Industrial Internships

PAP493 / PH4407 (10 AU, 22-week practical industrial attachment program bridging academic knowledge with corporate R&D).

Program Overview

Prof Lew Wen Siang developed the Physics Division’s internship program from its inception in 2007 with the support of the University Career & Attachment Office (CAO) and have been coordinating the program implementation (mentoring and assessment). I personally visited almost every intern organisation for work assessment discussion with their intern supervisors (except overseas intern organisations) to understand the training progress and student performance.

Organisations that have offered internship training for our Physics students include microelectronics investment banks, research institutions, microelectronic companies, hospitals, specialist medical centres, manufacturing plants, defence organisations, etc. As more physics students opt for the 22-week internship program, three faculty staff members have joined to take up supervision load.
